I am an inclusive and dedicated teacher, a creative and methodical researcher, and dedicated to public engagement and making history and heritage more accessible.
Education
PhD – English, Centre for Victorian Studies at the University of Leicester (2017-2023)
Research
My research concentrates on British women’s writing in the long 19th century and genre studies, specifically genres connected with women’s writing that have been canonically undervalued.
I am also currently writing on the cross section between survival cannibalism at sea (known as the custom of the sea) and Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
Other research interests include: the reading history of Elizabeth Gaskell, period dramas and other adaptations of 19th century fiction and biopics, and the extended span of women’s writing networks from the 18th century to the present day.
